This is a list of “Must Have” cydia jailbreak apps/tweaks in my point of view. At a later time I will go into more detailed coverage of them. You can find most of the information about these apps/tweaks in cydia as well as screen shots.
The list is as follows and is in no particular order:
AdBlocker – blocks adds in safari, does not work for iAds inside apps. There are other programs that claim to do this, but nothing I have found really does the job.
CleanStatus – does what it says, lets you remove things from your status bar such as carrier, clock ect.
ColorKeyboard – check my post on the front page for this one.
Fullscreen for Safari – lets you customize safari with your own multi-touch gestures. As the name implies you can also go full screen.
Infinifolders – put more than 12 items in a folder. Scrolling will be enabled.
iPicMyContacts – pictures of your contacts in your address book, can even pull from facebook.
Keep Text New – SMS is not marked as read when closed, as it should be by default.
Lockinfo – this app does too much to say right here, but in short it lets you fully customize your lockscreen with any information you could want.
OpenNotifier – check my post on the front page.
Popup Blocker – gets rid of the annoying iOS notification popups.
Update Hider – hides unwanted updates in the App Store.
Weather Icon – see the actual weather on your homescreen. Works with the default iOS weather app or many others. Also integrates with Lockinfo.
These are many of the cydia apps/tweaks I use on my iPhone. I feel that without these modifications I could not enjoy my iPhone as much as I do. Look for more writeups on these apps/tweaks this week.

Great list. 2 more I would add are multicleaner and activator. Activator is incorporated into so many other apps so it is a must have imo.

It didn’t used to, the Specs are Nvidia 5500gt, 1gb RAM, so on, I know it’s not the latest computer out there, it’s mostly for playing very old games or surfing the internet. The computer automatically restarts at the beginning of a streaming video, it doesn’t even try to run it. I ran the computer in safe mode with networking at was able to stream video but there was no sound. It used to be able to stream video..

A computer starts somewhere. It starts with a bios and a CPU and a motherboard ect… When we code that computer to pump out a random number, what makes it pick the number it picks? Exactly the same computer sits beside it’s identical and they both pick different 1st random numbers. Is the Bios fed a seed during construction and every new bios gets a different seed? Those of us that have worked with random numbers know what a seed is. So why does my computer give a number between 100 and 1000 as 756, but yours gives, 537? Is that not a form of intelligence beyond that of artificial? We gave the computer the ability to give random numbers, but what makes it give or pick that random number when in reality it has no ‘will’ to decide. Why 3 and not 4, when it favours nothing? Even with a seed, what makes it choose 5 with this seed but 7 with that seed? Where in the ruels of life does it say that, with this seed equaling 756395837 in that computer, 1st random # will be this?.

I’ve seen other bloggers have more than one image per post, but the templates blogspot only allows one image per post. Does anyone know the .html or is there something else I have to do to get multiple images?.

I am constantly signing in and out of my college website and it is rather annoying to always have to type in my user id. It used to be saved, but then I updated Firefox and it won’t save.. . If anyone could explain to make Firefox remember that would be great. Thanks..

I’m curious how creative writing instructors at colleges and universities handle students who write about really disturbing things and who seem potentially dangerous to themselves and others? Are instructors privy to students’ mental health records? Do they let such students get away with violent or disturbing writing in an effort NOT to stir too much trouble? Do you become proactive in trying to help these students? Do you undergo training to deal with problem students? As a creative writing student at a university, I often see disturbing stuff brought into workshops. I’m wondering what the profs think of all this. Thanks to any answers!.

For instance, major music stores like iTunes are not available in Asia and US TV networks which let viewers see programmes on their website don’t make such programmes available to viewers outside the US. This is even if people are willing to pay to download or see the content.. Isn’t an online store or channel where content is legitimately distributed globally possible?. If the government is responsible for restricting distribution, which government are we talking about? The government in the country where the content is produced or the government in the country where the content is to be imported to?.

I’m in high school and starting next year I will have to start looking at colleges. I know I want to find a college just for creative writing. I love writing stories of all sorts, and I know of a couple colleges that specialize in creative writing. But where would you recommend? Remember, I’m talking about creative writing, not journalism. i want to be able to do that kind of work with computers, but they don’t necessarily pay that well (40k a yr). Are there any other computer careers that involve repair work, ect. that pay at least 10k higher yearly? I am using the ja_purity2 and have confined the template to the centre of the screen (much like the joomla website). Now I want to add a shadow on the left and right of the “confined” template/website but have no idea on how to do it.. Any help would be appreciated.. Thank You in advance..

I want to add a registration form to Joomla.. . I need to be able to edit the fields of the form. . The form needs to register people as users in Joomla, and trigger an HTML welcome email, as well as a notification to an admin about the registration.. . I’ve tried community builder, but you can’t disable things like username, which is irrelevant to me, and the welcome emails won’t do HTML.. . Any suggestions?.

I have a blogger blog with a custom domain set up. I want to export it to a hosted wordpress blog. Some of my posts have good ranks with google and I don’t want to mess that up. My new WP blog will be the .net of my custom blogger domain so the permalinks will technically change if I import the old posts…any ideas how to get around this?.

I have a MacBook computer and I want my pictures that are on my computer to be on my Motorola Razr 2 v9. I have a memory card and a memory card adapter. When I put the card in the adapter, the computer recognizes it. And the pictures that I have on my phone can transfer to the computer with no problem. But the pictures on my computer won’t transfer to my phone. All that shows up is a big red “x” on a black screen. Am I doing something wrong? The phone company is AT&T..

I made a few songs and I want to know how to alter the copyright content on an MP3 file so I can share it online? I want to add (p) Swagers Studios (2009) to the copyright content and was wondering if it was possible. Any help is greatly appreciated.. It’s still not letting me edit the copyright content. I really love the sciences, especially chemistry and physics. But I also love the creative aspect of the spectrum, such as writing and books. I really want to write. Would it be smart to minor in English or Creative Writing but major in the sciences? Does it look acceptable? I’m new to college stuff, and I’m curious. I don’t want to miss an opportunity to advance my scientific or creative knowledge! I’m a Junior in high school..

I see articles online all the time and some are quite interesting. Since I’ve written quite a few articles myself, and even published a few books, it could be helpful for me to get my name out there by presenting my articles. So I learned how to add a Facebook comment box to my Blogger site (with the help of a code from Facebook social plugins site), but the problem is, the same comments appear for each of my posts. It’s like a feature targeted as a comment box for the entire site, but is shown at every single post, which is stupid! How do you get to have Facebook comment box in Blogger but different comments for each post?.

I have a website that has been up and running for some time now, and for numerous reasons I want to replace it with a WordPress site.. . So, how do I start building the WordPress site – in a seperate folder from the “public_html” folder? Then when you are ready to move it into the public_html folder, do you have to correct whatever file-paths and link errors?.

I have had Firefox, IE, and Google chrome downloaded onto my computer for a while now with no problem. Recently I downloaded YIM and now Firefox doesn’t start up. If I restart my computer a few times, and try to open it a few dozen times each time I restart, it will eventually pop up. How do I fix it? Chrome and IE still work fine but I prefer Firefox..
